2-Day Training Workshop for Library Professionals at CUI Lahore

As per previous practice, the Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus organized a two-day training/workshop titled “Level Up: Become a Pro Librarian” on July 16–17, 2025. The event aimed to enhance the skills, knowledge, and efficiency of the staff in line with the evolving demands of modern librarianship. On the first day, Dr. Muhammad Tariq, Head of Library, inaugurated the event and presented an insightful session on “Mastering Time: Productivity Strategies for Library Professionals.” The following session by Ms. Nasira Munir focused on “Navigate Like a Pro: Strategic Searching in the Digital Library Era,” equipping participants with advanced search strategies. In the afternoon, Dr. Ishtiaq conducted a hands-on session on “Beyond Bookshelves: Mastering KOHA for Next-Level Library Management.” All sessions were interactive and well-received. The second day began with Mr. Naveed Siddique’s presentations on “DSpace Essentials: Preserving and Showcasing CUI’s Scholarly Legacy” and “Calibre Unleashed: Managing and Delivering eBooks with Ease.” Later, Dr. Ishtiaq led a session on “Turnitin Toolkit: Generating & Interpreting Reports for Academic Integrity,” followed by Ms. Nasira Munir’s session on “Global Trends & Tools: Innovations Reshaping Modern Libraries.” The training concluded on July 18, 2025, with a certificate distribution ceremony to all resource persons and participants. Prof. Dr. Shamshad Ahmad, Head of Department of Information Management, University of Sargodha and Prof. Dr. Ghulam Murtaza, Associate Professor, DoIM, University of Sargodha was the chief guests. The event proved to be a valuable opportunity for capacity building, knowledge sharing, and team bonding among library professionals.
