Closing Ceremony of Calligraphy Painting Short Course
In a bid to promote and celebrate the artistic heritage of calligraphy, Assistant Librarian Naveed Siddique organized a one-month short course with the approval of professional development program committee at COMSATS University Lahore campus through the platform of Library Information Services. This course was designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of calligraphy painting, culminating in a final display to showcase the students' work.
The closing ceremony began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, setting a reflective tone for the event. Following this, Dr. Muhammad Tariq, Head of Library Information Services, offered insightful reflections on the significance of calligraphy art. He praised the organizers and participants for their dedication and creativity. Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq then spoke about calligraphy’s role in fostering personal expression and artistic discipline, emphasizing its power to convey profound messages through elegant script. Their speeches enriched the event by highlighting calligraphy’s enduring relevance and its impact on cultural identity.
At the end, Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq and Dr. Muhammad Tariq distributed the certificate among participants and the shield were also presented to Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq, Dr. Muhammad Tariq and Naveed Siddique, finally the guests and all the library staff toured the display by the student. Participants took the opportunity to elaborate on their works and the techniques they employed. The program concluded with a delightful tea.
