Global Dialogue on Research Beyond Boundaries: Opportunities for International Collaboration and Networking
The Department of Information Management and Library Information Services (LIS), COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Lahore Campus, in collaboration with the Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Lahore, organized an online Zoom session titled “Global Dialogue on Research Beyond Boundaries: Opportunities for International Collaboration and Networking” on July 14, 2026.
The session commenced with introductory remarks by Dr. Shariyeh Hosseini Nasab, who welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of international collaboration, scholarly networking, and interdisciplinary research partnerships in addressing contemporary academic challenges.
Distinguished scholars from around the world shared their valuable insights during the session. Alicia Takaoka from Erasmus University Rotterdam discussed emerging opportunities for global academic engagement and research cooperation. Blessing Mawire from the University of Pretoria emphasized the significance of international partnerships in strengthening higher education and knowledge exchange.
Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood, former Vice Chancellor of the University of the Punjab, spoke on interdisciplinary research and the importance of networking opportunities for researchers and institutions. Dr. Anwarul Islam from the University of Dhaka highlighted strategies for enhancing scholarly publications through international research collaborations.
From Australia, Roxanne Missingham, Director of Collections and Chief Librarian, shared her experiences in building sustainable global research networks. Zhou Hongli, a PhD scholar at Universiti Malaya, presented on co-constructing and advancing scholarly knowledge through international collaboration.
Finally, Dr. Ruwan Gamage from the National Institute of Library and Information Science, Sri Lanka, discussed the role of professional associations as catalysts for cross-border research and academic cooperation.
The session provided participants with an excellent platform to exchange ideas, explore collaborative opportunities, and strengthen international academic connections in the fields of information management and library sciences.
