Become a Smart Researcher" Training Program Concludes Successfully at CUI Lahore!
In line with the COMSATS Rector’s vision to strengthen human resources through targeted training and workshops, the Library Information Services (LIS) at COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, successfully wrapped up its impactful three-day training program, “Become a Smart Researcher: Leveraging Tools & Technology for Faster Insight,” held from July 14 to July 16, 2026. Designed for researchers, M.Phil. scholars, and PhD students, the workshop focused on integrating cutting-edge tech and artificial intelligence into modern academic workflows. The eventcommenced with an introductory session by Dr. Shariyeh Hosseini Nasab, Incharge Academics, who highlighted the importance of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence in modern research and encouraged participants to adopt innovative tools to enhance the quality and impact of their scholarly work.
The intensive program featured an esteemed lineup of guest experts who trained participants on essential research methodologies. Scholars gained hands-on insights into AI-driven literature searching, publication strategies, and advanced data analysis using SPSS-PLS and NVivo. Crucial sessions on academic integrity via Turnitin, high-impact research writing, and reference management using Mendeley were also conducted to provide a holistic learning experience.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Muhammad Tariq, Incharge LIS, emphasized that adopting AI and digital tools is essential for driving global research productivity and academic excellence. The event concluded with a ceremony awarding shields to the distinguished speakers and certificates to the organizing team, reinforcing CUI Lahore’s commitment to equipping scholars with modern academic skills.
